COVID-19 connecting

With millions of Americans staying at home during the coronavirus pandemic, individuals are still finding new ways to connect.

Apps and phone calls are replacing many daily interactions. According to “Today,” Zoom is now the number-one free app for iPhone and Android. Verizon’s phone traffic has increased with 800 million calls per weekday being made – two times the volume of Mother’s Day – and people are staying on the line 33 percent longer.

From virtual happy hours and drive-by parades of teachers, to phone calls and simple letter writing, Americans are finding ways to reach out and connect with one another.
