Autonomous Vehicles Prevent Human Error on the Road

by

In 2015, 2,700 people died in car accidents in Florida; 94% of these were avoidable tragedies caused by human error.

New improvements made to autonomous vehicle (AV) technology look to radically increase safety and transform our communities throughout the state. Unlike people, self-driving cars do not get distracted, tired or intoxicated, and testing is underway worldwide.

The Florida Legislature has been working toward positive AV policy since 2012 and currently has the most forward-thinking AV legislation in the nation. Visit the FAV program’s website for more information and join us at the upcoming AV Summit in November.
