According to a recent announcement from GIPHY co-founder Alex Chung, the popular GIF-searching site is now the number two search engine, only behind Google.
Created as a project for his friends, Chung says the idea came from philosophical conversations about language and communicating with others. The platform now works to download clip content in real-time to stay timely and relevant for events as they happen.
With more than 10 billion GIFs served across daily messaging and social media apps, this is a new SEO-like marketing tool all businesses and markets should become familiar with.
