The Governors Club, chartered in 1982, is the refurbished home of the Odd Fellows Lodge built in 1926, which originally included retail shops. Later, stores were combined to form the Grille, with the addition of a covered balcony.
In 2006, the Lounge opened next door. This year, an outdoor patio is being built for outdoor smoking, just in time for legislative session.
General Manager Barry Shields reports that the Club will generate approximately 55 percent of its food and beverage revenue for the entire year during the 60-day session for its more than 1,000 members and their guests.
