While the Florida State men’s basketball team sits at home during March Madness, the women’s team will tip off the NCAA tournament on Friday. The Seminoles (23-10) earned a nine-seed and they will face eight-seeded Alabama in the first round. The winner will advance to face the victor of top-seeded Texas and 16-seeded Drexel.
FSU has made the women’s tournament in each of the last 11 seasons. Only seven other programs have done the same. The keys to the Noles’ success are Ta’Niya Latson and Makayla Timpson, both All-ACC performers who helped FSU lead the conference in scoring this season.
