Get ready for more solar power in Florida. Announced earlier this month, the Florida Municipal Solar Project will be one of the largest municipal solar projects in the nation.

Florida Municipal Power Agency, in conjunction with 12 Florida municipal electric utilities and NextEra Florida Renewables, LLC, will be developing a 223.5-megawatt solar project in central Florida. Consisting of three separate solar farms, the project will be capable of powering 45,000 typical Florida homes.

Construction on the project will begin in early 2020, and it is expected to be operational by June 30, 2020. Find more details here.
