The Republican primary for one of Florida’s cabinet posts is heating up among three current House members and a former Circuit Judge.

Ashley Moody has raised $1.2 million and has endorsements from 20 sheriffs. Rep. Jay Fant of Jacksonville may be the underdog, but he’s keeping pace with fundraising after loaning his campaign $750,000. The two newcomers, Rep. Frank White of Pensacola and Rep. Ross Spano of Riverview, could make for an even more divided primary. White has taken the fundraising lead after putting in $1.5 million of his own money.

Primary Day is August 28, 2018.
