Commence the yearly trek of lawmakers to Tallahassee. On Tuesday, House and Senate members will gear up for the 2018 Legislative Session with the first of six scheduled committee meeting weeks.
For the past several years, even-numbered years means session begins in January, making it much easier for September committee meetings to sneak up on us.
While we know when session starts, the real question is what legislation will pass once it begins. Many issues, such as assignment of benefits and workers’ compensation reform, were not resolved in 2017. Will this be the year something is done?
