The Legislature needed just a few extra days to get things done, coming back June 7-9 for a Special Session. Here’s what passed and is now awaiting the Governor’s signature:

• Education / Increase of per-student funding by $100, and $60 million for university projects

• Tourism / $76 million for VISIT FLORIDA to promote tourism, the state’s number one industry

• Economic Development / $85 million for Dept. of Economic Opportunity

• Herbert Hoover Dike / $50 million for repairs near Lake Okeechobee

• Medical Marijuana / Bans smoking of it, and requires Dept. of Health to set number of dispensaries and growers post Amendment 2 passage
