Saving the State Money

by

Florida lawmakers face an uphill battle this upcoming session. Recent forecasts paint a gloomy picture with less money available to meet the state’s critical needs. The Legislature must implement cost savings and government efficiencies. Luckily, a simple solution exists.

The Government Efficiency Task Force (GETF), which meets every four years, released a report last year detailing 29 recommendations that would improve government operations while saving hard-working Florida taxpayers’ money. If implemented, these recommendations would save the state $2 billion annually.

If lawmakers want to get serious about improving government functions, the GETF recommendations are a great place to start.
