An Election That’s Hard to Understand

by

Another presidential election has passed, and, like the others before, I seek sense of theme or meaning behind the results. I am coming up pretty blank.

Everyone predicted the final result wrong, yet the pundits all still proclaim the voters were angry and wanted to throw out the elected elite. Only two US senators lost, a handful of congressmen, one state senator and two state house members. Apparently, the anger was laser focused on the presidency. Or, does the anger still boil? Combine this with low voter turnout, and maybe the pot still simmers?

Time to get ready for 2018!
