Connecting Florida’s Farms to Schools

by

Florida produces an abundance of fresh, wholesome fruits and vegetables. And I’m on a mission to direct more of these healthy foods to Florida’s school cafeterias.

Through the Farm to School program, we’ve established connections between Florida farmers and schools. We’ve also revised the cafeteria menus to feature produce when it is in season. These changes have resulted in more healthy choices that are fresh and affordable for Florida’s students.

Research shows that students who eat well are more likely to succeed in school. By connecting Florida’s farms to schools, we’re hoping to create a better, brighter future for Florida.
