Reimagining the heart of UF’s campus

by

Every year, more than 1.2 million people walk through the Plaza of the Americas, one of the most popular outdoor spaces at the University of Florida.

To make the landmark more appealing, the Plaza has undergone $2.2 million of renovations, designed by Tampa landscape architecture firm David Conner + Associates. DC+A has worked with UF over 10 years to ensure the work reflected UF’s history and culture. Construction started in 2016 and is now complete.

A central concept: add benches and landscaping to encourage students to use walkways, build community and save the grass in nearby open spaces.
