Hanukkah celebrations

Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, or historically the Feast of Dedication, is a time for celebration and reflection. This year, it runs Sunday, Dec. 2, through Monday, Dec. 10. Here are local events:

Shomrei Torah hosts a Hanukkah latke bar on Friday, Dec. 7, from 6:30-8PM.

Chabad has a family carnival on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 5-7PM. Expect a fun, tasty and educational Hanukkah celebration with arts and crafts, cookie decorating and pin the flame on the menorah.

Temple Israel holds a grand Hanukkah service and celebration and potluck dinner on Friday, Dec. 7, beginning at 6PM.
