The fifth of May

For some, May 5 means two-for-one margaritas and bottomless chips and salsa, but May 5 is more than a celebration of food and drink specials.

May 5 is most famous for Cinco de Mayo, a celebration that started after the Mexican army defeated the French force in the Battle of Puebla in 1862. May 5 also marks the anniversary of the first American to travel in space in 1961. And on May 5, 2002, “Spider-Man” became the first movie to earn $100 million opening weekend.

Now, there’s even more reason to celebrate and (of course) eat tacos.
